A lot of newbie problems

I have downloaded the latest version of Unity and i have even bought some courses on Udemy to learn how to use this but i am not having much luck. The project i created has vanished even though i know i saved it in the cloud. I download the app, and went to the asset sore while in the project and imported the 3D game kit exactly as instructed in the video, upon installation every single asset had a warning, that the assets could not be used with the project. This put me off, and i closed the app and left it alone for many days, when i cam back to try again today everything i had done had vanished. It was in the cloud as that is where i set it up from but now i have to try and do it all again, this puts me off again as i feel i am just wasting my time trying to set up a project that will just be deleted. I thought I would start with the Game Kit to let me get used to the software but it has just turned out to be frustrating. How do i get this software to work with the Game kit, as when i try importing directly to my project i just get errors on every single asset i try to import, the assets folders show up in the correct project but it states that the assets can not be used by the project, Wish i had taken a screenshot. Now everything i downloaded and imported the other day and the project i created has vanished so i am not confident it will not be deleted again if i try and do this all again. It takes me about 3 hours to get the Game kit imported and installed only to have it deleted. This is totally putting me of wanting to build any games as i just can not get the app to work as it is supposed to work and it is very frustrating. Does anyone have any idea how i can get this game kit to show up without any errors and without having it deleted from the cloud as soon as i close the app? Thank you
Ive been using unity for 3 . 5 years and have never used the cloud. i feel much safer with it on my PC for this exact reason. you can make copies of it and search it directly if its on you PC... Cloud is handy yes, but i want Full control of All my assets. since you have literally just started, you have a LONG way to go. Ive done most of Udemy Complete Development Course 2d and 3d by Ben Tristem when they were merged, now its two courses. Both very good, but they never showed us cloud ever. $$anonymous$$aybe in newer version they do its been a few years since i did the class. I'd just start new project and save it on your computer somewhere. me i have $$anonymous$$e here

literally right there on its own SSD! next folder inside that, is my Assets folder that unity calls Application.dataPath; when referencing it in code. and agreed when i first started out the asset packs fascinate me. I wanted them all.. well not everything works on the newest unity for starters i didn't know that back when i was on Unity 4.2f1and first starting out. Everything I know now started from the Complete Development Courses and now i'm obsessed with it.

Thank you I have been trying to do this all today on my MacBook Pro 10.13.6 but I have been having a lot of problems with the app. This is just pure frustration and i will not be able to build anything with this as i cannot even get it to set up correctly without any errors no matter what course or video i try to do it with. I will just have to give up as there is no way I can build a game with so many errors. Building websites are so much easier than this.
