Why is this image not downloading properly in WWW class?
When I use Unitys WWW class to download the following image..
http://s14.postimg.org/4xl9xtn9t/Whopper.jpg
The request does not fail but I get the 8x8 red question mark texture. Which I gather means that the url is good but it points to data that Unity can't use for a texture.
We've tried many different images that all work fine but this one does not and we have no idea why. Anyone have any idea why the WWW class cannot turn this image into a Texture2D ? Thanks.
what happens with: other images in the same domain and folder (i.e. http://s14.postimg.org/4xl9xtn9t/)? same image but with a different filename? the same image but slightly modified with some image editing software? another image with the same dimensions and roughly same size (bytes)?
So, we're downloading a quite a few images from a server of ours.. We've tried same image with different extension and name and we get the question mark. We've saved the image as a png in photoshop and it works. We've tried all sorts of images with similar and varying sizes and dimensions and they are fine. One thing that consistently doesnt work are animated gifs (which we dont $$anonymous$$d as users arent allowed to upload them in the 1st place) We were thinking maybe this burger image has some animated gif like properties.. Though checking it out in photoshop did not reveal any layers. This one image is an aberration, the only one we've tested where this happens out of 100's. And we're just really curious why this one image doesnt work.
