GooglePlayGames Scoreboard doesn't display when called

When using PlayGamesPlatform.Instance.ShowLeaderboardUI("scoreboard id is here"); the scoreboard doesn't appear.

I am using the latest version of Unity, Android SDK, GooglePlayGames plugin, and the JDK is also up to date. This all used to work fine a few months ago, recently though this plugin has been giving me a lot of headaches. Does anyone know a solution?
