Splash Screen Orientation is incorrect at start app.

I have an app that I am working for android that has an odd issue.

At the start of the app the orientation on the splash screen is the orientation of the device. A few seconds in it switches to a landscape orientation due to a script that I set up to ensure that it is in a landscape orientation. The script is the first thing that gets called when entering the game and I put the check in the awake function so it will happen as soon as possible. If this is a bug I can't seem to find in on the issues section of the site so a link to it and any possible fixes would be great.

I have the player settings set to Auto-rotate with the landscape, left and right, options checked, and this is only happening on Android devices.
