MovieTexture behaviour not working as expected
hello!
i'm pretty new to unity, and i'm learning very quickly, trying to suss out as much as i can without asking questions, but MovieTexture is making me crazy.
According to the documentation, when adding a video asset to the project, the video file is transcoded and should be manipulable as a MovieTexture. the documentation then shows the (Movie Importer) component below a component called "MyMovie" which includes the loop option.
despite me spending several hours on this, i cannot get that component to show up.
i can get the texture to load, be assigned, and play, but looping is just not available.
am i doing something wrong? i have seen indications that you have to "instantiate" the MovieTexture, but attempts to follow those instructions have ended in failure, and the documentation offers no such guidance. am i just doing something wrong or missing something?
attached is the Import Settings i get on my .ogv file (same for .mp4 or anything else, but tried native .ogv as i read that THAT may fix this. although it does not.)
thanks in advance for help. i realise i'm probably making a newbie mistake, but my google-fu is failing me here.
