Standard assets broken?
I've imported a standard asset Fire1, but it doesn't have any material assigned to it. When I put it in my scene only purple squares simulate the fire.
The same happens with any other asset. How do I fix it?
Well, if you've identified the problem as being "no material is assigned", the solution is surely to "assign a material"?
However, I suspect the problem is not "no material is assigned" but rather there is a problem with the shader assigned to the material (magenta is the default colour output by any erroneous shaders). Any errors appearing in the console?
I figured out that they don't come with shaders. How come?
If I make a model in Blender, I notice that even though Unity doesn't import materials from Blender properly, if I do not export the material with the model then sometimes the shader/material is unselectable in Unity.
I think this can be fixed by simply adding a renderer, like Skinned $$anonymous$$esh Renderer. As no material is associated, the renderer is not automatically attached.
@meat5000 That's true. But I'm using standard assets. Not models.
