shafts of light in fog?

are there thechniques for making shafts of light across fog in unity? first time i saw this was in FEAR version 1 in about 2006, i think it's an awesome 3d ambience thing i dount know why we dont see more of it! alt text

This is a pro asset only.

Another cheap way of doing this is making a cilinder-like object, and apply a transparent/yellow material on it.

I recently made a lightshaft system on the assetstore wich does not require unity pro, you could set a meshplane in the shape of the fog and cast downwards to create a similar effect.

Hi, I've been using Light Shafts.cs and it's amazing. The shafts are rendering in front of my Sprite Characters tho. How can I fix this?
