How can I add a texture to a quad in Unity 5.1
Hello,
I'm following the tutorial http://unity3d.com/es/learn/tutorials/projects/space-shooter-tutorial I know it is aimed to Unity 4 users, but they usually add some comments when something extra/different is needed to be done for Unity 5 users.
The issue for me is in the 4th video, where I have to add a texture to the background. I firstly create a Quad, but when I try to drag the texture onto it, I'm not allowed, and in the video it is possible. What am I doing wrong or missing? I see the default material is in grey color, so perhaps I need to activate it somehow. But I'm need with Unity and I have no clue how to do it.
If I wasn't clear enough or you need more information, please let me know. Thanks in advace for your feeback.
Feel free to post a small screenshot of your background inspector. Are you in playmode ? Did you checked it as static ?

Drag and dropping materials on objects should work but you can also select your background GameObject and assign the material in the material array as shown in this screenshot.
To assign the material, you can drag and drop it in the Element 0 on the Default-Diffuse material.
You can also click on the little circle on your right, then you'll have access to all your material and you can assign the one you need.
