Unity 5.3.4f1 License Error
When I open Unity 5.3.4f1 for the first time, I sign into my account and I get License Error and it gives me the option to Re-Activate so I click that and it says "Checking license" then it goes back to License Error.
How can I fix this?
Happens to me too after the last big Window 10 update. Although I can at least get through it. For your case, try deleting C:\ProgramData\Unity (no idea what it would be on $$anonymous$$ac)
"$$anonymous$$achine identification is invalid...."
So I do "re-activate". All happy.. till next time I restart my computer. Then Unity complains again and I have to reactivate again!!!
Also, Unity Free (personal edition). Don't know why we must go through this hassle for the free edition.
I have the same problem on Windows 7 x64. Unity crashes when loading the license. I have not found a fix yet. Tried the suggestion of deleting the Unity folder, no change. Reinstalled, no change. I think it's related to .net framework. It seems like the installer (offline) was trying to download Windows updates, and failed... I'll repost here if it works. $$anonymous$$aybe it'll help others with the same issue.
Same issue here with Version 5.5.2f1 on Win7 x64. C:\ProgramData\Unity
does not exist on my machine. Tried deleting %APPDATA%\Unity
without success.

There seems to be a Workaround by using a "Manual activation" - disconnect from the Network, start unity and follow the steps to manually activate unity.
Found this solution here.

Hello, I had the same in Windows 10, and I just had to run Unity as Administrator. Hope it helps.
