Unity Freezes... a lot!
Hi everyone! I just downloaded Unity and I am giving the platformer tutorial a whirl. However, Unity completely chokes my computer. I start the engine, and the "welcome" dialog appears. When I close that window, Unity freezes for about 30 seconds before the editor comes up. Then, when I load in the Tutorial game, everything I do freezes the engine for a few minutes. It returns control to me eventually, but it's impossible to use this way.
Here are my stats:
Computer: HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook PC
Ram: 2GB
Operating system: 32 bit
Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 (2.00 gHz)
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/ nForce 630M
Any help is appreciated!

It's normal for Unity to be a slow starter (Vista wants to close it because it's unresponsive). When you open a new project, Unity basically seems to restart. When a project is loaded however, Unity should be quite responsive. So, as long as you don't have to switch between projects, you should be fine.
Thanks for writing! Actually, once it loads up it's totally fine. Iit isn't until I load up the tutorial project that Unity starts to freeze on me. It's especially noticeable when I try to drag an object into the scene (the "Lurpz" character, in the tutorial). Unity instantly freezes for several $$anonymous$$utes.
@Dave Gilbert: I agree with Jaap. If you can't load the project, something is wrong either with you machine or your windows. I'm on a mac with 2GB ram as well, and a nForce, so I'd guess your windows is bloated.
