What is the best solution for building a program that utilises multiple displays through one PC?
Hi all,
I am currently creating a driving simulator software with the goal of having 3 projectors which would project onto the front and two side windows of a mock car.
I am currently trying to work out what the best approach to do this would be? I was thinking to have three GPUs, each one handling a different projector, however I am unsure whether this is possible with Unity/ at all? Would it be possible to do this through Unity, either with three or just the one GPU? If we were to go with just one GPU, how taxing would that be on the GPU? We are looking into possibly having more displays like mirrors etc and so any help on how best to do this would be much appreciated!
I have had a long search through the Unity forums and have found some answers which seemed quite complex and were from 2010. Has the situation changed at all since then?
Many thanks for your help!
you want 3 gpus in one pc? i have seen 2 using sli but i doubt its even posible, to have 3 screens/projectors you just need 3 outputs (hdmi DP dvi...) and work with multiple monitors that it is posible
Ahh okay many thanks! I just was ai$$anonymous$$g to dedicate as much power to each projector as possible, hence why I thought it might be a good idea. How easy is it to incorporate sli into unity and have two GPUs?
i have never worked with sli it is not an industria starndart at all, out there are really really powerfull gpus, are they not powerfull enough? most of the projectors i have used, even some cinema really expensive ones were fhd, and 3 fhd monitors is not that much
