Character Customization, and how to do it.

I'm at the stage where I'm ready to implement this vital and coveted feature, but I'm still trying to find the best way.

What I need from you, willing and generous reader, is example projects! Anything related I can tear apart and rebuild. But specifically, ideally, I want

  1. an editor to choose armor and weapon loadouts, affecting the look and specs of a mech/armor.

  2. body sliders and color selectors on a humanoid figure.

But! I assume that networking all these options takes more particular work/knowledge, so that's the most important.

Yes, I know there's a heaping handful of usable to subpar tutorials out now, and I'm sorting through them as we speak, but I trust you to share the best and most useful articles you know.

I'm afraid this is not what UA is for. If you have started coding your own solution and run into problems, then this is the perfect place to ask how it can be solved. Asking for complete projects or even scripts, let alone for something of this magnitude, is not suited for the rather simple framework of UA.

There's at least one thread for such an asset on the forums:

UCC - Create custom morphs and modifications on any model

A system like this is so somplex that I'd be surprised if one is available for free.
