Horrible baked shadows
Realtime shadows look better than baked. I am using Unity 5.2.5f1 personal edition. I made simple scene to show the problem.

Hi, I just tried setting up the same scene as you, and weirdly enough, it works for me, although it shows some warning when selecting directional mode in General GI. $$anonymous$$aybe you should try non-directional mode? picture
Because you are using Plane. poirot-dev is using a terrain. :)
I tried directional, non-directional and directional specular but still no change.
$$anonymous$$aybe of no help, stumbled across this when researching a different issue. By chance my setup almost same, and looks rather different (i.e. not a weirdly low res). Can you show us the mesh renderer setup?

Is this plane a default terrain?
Select it and go to Lighting > Object and increase the "Scale in Lightmap"
By default the terrain have pretty low scale, because it might get huge. So if you want proper baking you have to increase the scale and set the Advanced Parameter to Default.
Also you might want to set the Atlas Size to 2048, so you have more room for the terrain...
I tried and problem is still there. Same thing would happen when I use cube. I used terrain now just to demonstrate the problem.
Weird! Upload your project and I'll have a look at it - see if I can find anything wrong - I know how frustrating these things can be.
I think instruct9r is right. Here the terrain is on the left: look at shadow, even worse than yours!
Here: I've turned up Scale In Lightmap ((it even warns it's probably too low)
Well, it solved the problem. It need time to render but it looks ok.

Actually, I made a mistake, problem happens only when I use a terrain. Plane and cube works fine. And my project is to big to upload it to forum.
