Question by Eric_Wuebbels · Dec 10, 2015 at 07:34 PM · guigameobjectpause menucs0117

GameObject Does Not Contain a Definition For... (In This Case PauseMenu)

Okay, I've gotten the hang of coding fairly quickly, but GameObject never seems to work for me no matter what I do. As of right now, I'm trying to make a pause menu, but I can't even toggle it down because I can't get the GameObject to work. Under "public class", I've typed in "public GameObject PauseMenu;", the PauseMenu being the canvas I'm using, and yet I get one single error that says "GameObject does not contain a definition for 'PauseMenu'". Anyone willing to help?

Thanks so much.

Are you trying to access Pause$$anonymous$$enu from GameObject? Like this: "GameObject.Pause$$anonymous$$enu"? Cause that won't work.

Hard to answer without seeing your code. Can't tell what's going on. This question has been asked before though: https://www.google.ca/search?q=GameObject+does+not+contain+a+definition+for&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=1N5pVujbD8O9ebXYhvgN

Okay...it kind of fixed itself? I did absolutely nothing <.< I can paste my script if you'd like, though, because now it's still not quite doing what I intended it to do.

Please do include the parts of your script(s) relevant to your problem.
