Optimizing trees (Or any large batch of objects) in Unity
So my modeler created her own model for the trees you see here in Maya and exported them as fbx files. I put them all in this small forest you see here (Placement is not final, mind), and whenever I do have them I notice a drop in frame rate. I'm not using terrain or the built in Unity tree creator, it's all just stuff that's being manually placed on the floating rock platform model that was also made in Maya. I'm looking things up right now but is there any known way to optimize a large group of objects like this?
