Canvas Problem
Hello there,
I saw on some Youtube tutorials on Unity that there is let's say "UI Editor" called Canvas.. The way how add this UI is (as I saw in the video) it's easy. Right click in Hierarchy and create here.. But when I click in the Hierarchy, I got here only Copy, Paste, Rename, Duplicate, Delete and that's all. I found an component Canvas, but that's not what I want, it looks like older version, but I downloaded the lastest version and tryied it here just about minute ago.. Can anyone tell me why I can't get this canvas? Thank you all.
I think you should rename your question to "cannot create Canvas" or something like that

You should be able to create it by right-clicking Hierarchy, and the clicking UI >>> Canvas.
If for some reason you can't find it, you can always do the same by clicking to GameObject >>> UI >>> Canvas
If you still can't do that, I would suggest that you do not have Unity 4.6. But there is 1 more thing to try out: set the canvas yourself.
When I create new canvas in my scene, these GameObjects are created:
Canvas
EventSystem
The canvas has these components:
And EventSystem has these:
Nope, there's nothing. As I said, if I right click in hierarchy, I get only Copy, Paste, Rename, Duplicate, Delete, nothing about creating anything.
Another thing, when I click GameObject, there is no UI
EDIT 1: It looks like the whole editor is still the same, even If I update it..
I would say that you do not have the newest Unity I guess. Are you sure that you downloaded newest one? Anyway, I will update my answer a bit, I hope that'll help.
Btw, sorry for the late reply, I thought that that would have fixed it.
I've downloaded Unity about 4 days ago, in the window Bbout Unity it says I got 4.5.5f1. I see that 4.6 is available, so I'll try that. Also I'll try complete reinstalation of Unity. Thank you anyway. I will tell you the results.
The new UI system was officially released a few days ago(with the new Unity 4.6). The reason why there is so much tutorials and all that stuff about it is because there was an open beta for the testing of it. You WILL be able to use the UI when you get the Unity 4.6, trust me. I would strongly suggest closing this question now or at least checking my answer as "accepted"
