Can't animate UI element whose values are controlled by a layout group

So basically my problem is that i want to animate the sizeDelta component of a BUTTON but this button is a child of a PANEL onto which i need to add a Horizontal Layout Group, but after adding layout group i can't animate the button's sizeDelta (basically nothing is animatable after adding any layout group), so is this how this UI system works or i m missing something ?
