Exporting gameobject to file using same mechanism as editor?
In my game, the player can construct their own spaceship by piecing together various spaceship parts.
In the editor, dragging a gameobject to the file hierarchy creates a .prefab file which contains the data needed to reconstruct the gameobject. Is this functionality part of the standard libraries or is it an editor only feature?
If it is, could I use the same functionality to export the player spaceships to their save folder and recreate it at runtime by loading that file?
Thanks
