You need to close your if statement, your function, and your public class.

So at the end of line 17 press enter to get to the next line and add a curly bracket. Press enter again and add another curly bracket and finally press enter again and add a third curly bracket.

You have to make sure all your brackets are enclosed. You just can't

 public class Script : MonoBehaviour {

     Animator anim;

     void Start () {
         anim = GetComponent<Animator>();

     }

because only the void start has a closing bracket and not the public class. Either you have two many curly brackets, or not enough of them.

Are you coding in c# or javascript? Because Javascript doesn't use the "using UnityEngine" stuff at the top and c# doesn't use Functions. So your problem is that you have to keep to one coding language!

Well, Var and Function only works for Javascript. The c# version of these is public float and void. You should go and look through the manual and the learn pages on this site to get the hang of scripting.
