We cannot seem to find a way to get an unzipped package into unity.
Me and my friend are working together to create a VR Escape Room, and we're using the VIVE headset and controllers to do it. However, we need a Steam VR Plugin from the Asset Store in order to play and explore in our world, so we downloaded the package from the asset store into the Unity package manager, but when we downloaded and tried to import it, an error message popped up that read, "Failed to import package with error: Couldn't decompress package UnityEgine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent (int, intptr, bool&)" And so, we looked up a youtube video telling that in order to decompress the package, we had to find it in our computer files, use a program called 7-zip to extract the package into a new format, and then we had to rename the package in the format to a ".unitypackage" setup, which immediately gave it a unity symbol. However, it still doesn't show up in the package manager or the assets, and when we tried to add it to the package manager, it was simply not there, and we couldn't see it anywhere. We also tried importing it straight through the assets by right clicking on assets, going to import package, then custom package, and we were able to find it in our files. However, it still read the error that it simply couldn't decompress the package, so we think it might be one of a few things that's stopping us: Either we unzipped the wrong file and didn't find the correct one in the first place, we're attempting to import it into unity incorrectly, or the plugin itself has a bug, or we have the wrong version or setting or something that's blocking the package (We have version 2020.2.4). Can someone help us?
