My C# scripts keep opening in Visual Studio
I guess others might consider this a feature but of all the changes Unity might make, I think I hate this the most. I want to use monodevelop, but when I try to open the solution or script directly in MD, I get this.
If I click yes it fails to start. This started happening immediately after the update, please tell me they aren't getting rid of mono develop? I'm in the middle of the biggest project I've ever started, this is really bad timing.

Just go to Edit > Preferences > External Tools > External Script Editor and set MonoDevelop as the default.
Let me know if this helps ;)
Thanks, I was looking for a general settings menu and couldn't find it.
However, after changing it back to monodevelop, opening my scripts makes the $$anonymous$$onoDevelope splash logo thing appear, but it still won't open.
What may have happened was $$anonymous$$onoDevelop may have been open/had processes running while you were updating so it didn't update properly. What you need to do is close $$anonymous$$onoDevelop and it's processes and do the Unity upgrade again(only for the package which contains $$anonymous$$onoDevelop). This worked for me.
