characters in scene totally dark
hey!
so this been nagging me for ages! and i feel the answer sort of right under my nose, but I think I need some new eyes and thoughts on this.
I have build characters in "makehuman" and thereafter imported them into my scene in unity. things look fine , BUT my charactes are very very dark? why is that?
I exported fbx to c4d to fbx again to unity. so the textures originates from "makehuman"
bests, line
attached are 2 photos, one from c4d with good skin tone and one from unity with puuhh

I haven't worked with C4D but with Blender. Generally the FBX type includes everything that is in your scene, not only your models, but also things like lights etc if your scene has them, and these can affect how your models look in Unity. But note that: a light source in your scene (in the 3d model editing software) might have a certain luminosity power that is expressed with some kind of measurement, but the same amount of 'points' might have a different luminosity in Unity.
My advice is this: When you import a model, you place it somewhere in the 'Assets' folder that you can navigate through the 'Project' window. Find your model in the Project window and click on it. In the inspector you will see some options like "Import Lights", "Import Visibility", and they are checked by default. Try unchecking them and then clicking "Apply" in the inspector, to see if that solves your problem.
