Making a crouch button for a rigidbody character controller without scaling item in hand
hey, i just started programming a couple of weeks ago and i decided to create a horror fps based on physics and whatnot.
I decided to code a rigidbody character controller with an amnesia like pick up system where i can pick up items with a raycast etc. Only problem is my "inventory system" i programmed a basic lantern but the thing with my controller is i change the scale of the entire player.
Makes it pretty hard because, the main camera is a child of my player empty object(the one being scaled) and then the equip position is a child of that camera. It vasically squishe the item whenever i crouch and i lotterally dont know how to fix it. Whenever i google it people basically just say not to scale a rigid body.
So the answer im looking for is either a way to scale everything except a specifig tag i guess or just make it so specific items dont get scaled. I have a couple ideas but generally dont know how to do it.
The whole purpose is to create a prefab that i could use of every project by just changing a couple of values.
