White flash damage feedback
In games from MegaMan 2 to Diablo 3, enemies flash white for a few frames when they take damage. It shows that damage was taken in a satisfying way. I'd like to use this effect.
I'm not sure the best way to make a character flash white and then fade to normal over the course of a few frames. My characters are simple 3D models who may have attachments.
Can someone with experience using Unity's materials tell me how this might be accomplished?

I think you could do this with a shader. Not my area of expertise, but if nobody else answers, hopefully this points you in the right direction.
