Good and flexible visual novel tools for Unity?
I need good tools for making visual novels. We want to implement interactive map and whatnot, so best it wouldn't be too closed architecture. Of course our own mechanics will be written by our programmers, just pointing out I'd like to have less than more problems after prototyping phase.
I tried Fungus so far, it's great and all, it's simple, have a lot of tweaks and stuff, especially nodes are really useful. But to be fair I had some problems with handling variables between scenes, sometimes minor bugs appear too. Is something better than Fungus out there? If not, I'll stick to it and problem solved.
I have to admit that Fungus and other non-programmer friendly assets have a ton of useful tools, like all the things needed in VNs are there (fades, camera handling, dialogue system), then again, it's save system and built-in UI are pretty much crap.
I checked Asset Store already and didn't really found anything better, but there's still a chance I missed something. It would be great if these tools where non-programmer friendly, I'd like to go through prototyping phase mostly by myself and don't give programmers more work than they have now.
So the question is, is there anything better out there? Someone already told me about Adventure Creator, haven't tried it yet, just want to check every viable option.
