Merging Objects (many tiles into one) - 2D

[non-English Speaker here]

Hi guys, I created a stage with tilemaps using Tile Master.

Problem: Every tile becomes a game object.

Is there any way to merge the tiles into only one game object? It could be an external tool or something...

I "painted" the tiles with automatic collider (TileMaster function) but it can be ignored.

Look into voxel tutorials, they use meshes to paint the scene.

Don't use Tile $$anonymous$$aster, use Tiled

http://www.mapeditor.org

and import the maps you make using

http://www.seanba.com/tiled2unity

to learn how to use this go to

Ouch, reading about the static game objects:

"For example, rendering can be optimised by combining several static objects into a single, large object known as a batch."

By checking tiles as "static" I got a better performance. Is it right? Cause it's all I want.

Sorry guys, newbie question. I have just started unity development.

build a mesh, set Uv coordinates to be height , width of your tile.
