Unity web player won't install in chrome on macbook

We are developing a unity project, specifically to run in an environment that requires Chrome. My unity web player, on my macbook pro, will no longer work. Whether it's our game, or any unity game online, I am now promoted to install unity web player. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled unity web player, a number of times. It runs in other browsers, and our PC's seem unaffected, but again, our project requires Chrome and I'm on a mac so I'm now seriously stuck. Please advise!
