Spotlight lights up whole wall
I have a spotlight behind the camera and when the spotlight hits a wall, the whole of the wall lights up instead of just the section of wall where the light is hitting and I can't figure out why.
Heres screenshots of what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/szKryVb
In the second image, I move the spotlight over a bit and you can see the whole of the light is affecting the wall. It's quite jarring and I'm trying to have a darker atmosphere which it totally ruins.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I've messed around with most of the light settings and tried using different walls assets and the same thing happens. I also can't find any threads where the issue has been resolved.
Thanks
I FINALLY fixed this just after I posted this. I figure I might as well share in case anyone ever finds this thread with the same problem.
I found this thread about a slightly different issue but the top voted fix also fixed my problem. I basically just set the flashlight to important and it fixed it!
Here's the thread: https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/questions/28761/why-do-my-point-lights-disappear-when-another-nearby-light-is-above-1-85-range
And here's the fix copy-pasted.
Select the Light object
Go to Inspector
Light
And change rendered mode "Auto" to "important"
Just had this same issue and came to the same solution. Upvoted for visibility.
