Question by rubenKAI · Jan 15, 2016 at 04:55 PM · 3dserverenvironmentterminal

How can I display a terminal in three dimensional space?

Disclaimer ** I am very new to unity, so apologies if this question is poorly crafted.

I want to create a terminal [that can SSH into servers on my network] suspended in 3 dimensional space

How can I best run cmd.exe in a unity environment?

P.S. it doesn't need to be windows ter$$anonymous$$al - linux is fine as well - as long as I can ssh while in the 3d unity environment

Sounds like 3 completely separate Qs: How to make a 3D object in a game. How to check where someone is clicking/touching (are they going to touch buttons to send commands?) And how to use SSH from Unity (like just how to remotely run ls or DIR from Start().)

So I could create an object that shows a live ssh feed in the game (literally an in game ter$$anonymous$$al)?

The commands should be sent from a keyboard.

That's still more than one Q. You can display text on the screen, and make it appear to be "on" a wall or something. Lots of places to read about that. Of course, you can manually set that text to whatever you want.
