save scene as ? did NOT save my changed prefabs scripts

i saved many scenes the point was to try different scripts and settings on prefabs and game objects and if the new settings didn't work then go back to the original saved ones before, but when I went back I see they have changed to the new ones ?? all the scripts I removed are removed in all the scenes the old scenes and new ones?? why? wasn't this the whole point of "save scene as"?

I had a prefab with many scripts, in the new saves I removed some of the scripts form the inspector so I could try new scripts

and now I dont remember what went where?

whats the point of save scene as if it doesn't even save ?

and how do I conduct a save that' saves all changes to items like prefabs and game objects

please help
