GoogleVR vs GearVR - frame dropping
I have a simple app I created for GearVR that I just ported to GoogleVR. The app runs perfectly smooth on the GearVR headset, but playing it with the Google sdk and camera is giving me some very slight lag and occasionally frame drops. This is being run on a Galaxy S8+. The profiler shows the spikes are caused by the infamous VR.WaitforGPU. Reducing VRSettings.Renderscale seems to have no effect.

I believe the problem is down to Google VR Services version 1.10, updated a few days ago. It makes VR stutter, including Google Day Dream. Uninstalling all updates to Google VR Services returns it to version 1.6x. This runs smoothly, but then won't connect with the DayDream controller as it is incompatible with that version. I guess we'll just have to wait for Google to fix.
