Unity 5.4 crash on startup with Windows 10

Have an old game I started developing in 2014, migrated to Unity 5.4 and developed on Windows 7 for years - got a new laptop (Windows 10), downloaded and installed Unity 5.4 and now it crashes even before the splash screen shows. One of the crash dumps show an AccessViolation for Unity.exe. Graphics card is updated, didn't see anything with "Lavasoft" anywhere, network adapters are find and I even tried disabling firewall, no luck. Any help greatly appreciated
