Text Editor cannot detect copy-pasted text
Hello! I'm trying to get unity to retrieve text from a text editor. I don't actually want to type stuff into this editor because it's more convenient for me and my team to type all the text in a google docs file, then transfer this text into individual text files. I basically open this text document in Visual studio and copy and paste the text. A big problem that comes from this is when I copy and paste this text into the text editor, Unity does not recognize that I have pasted anything. It doesn't realize I typed anything unless I type it out myself word for word in visual studio. I also tried copying and pasting the text into notepad, and importing this file into unity but it still thinks its empty(even though it isn't in visual studio ). Anyone know how to fix this?
I could not reproduce this error. 1. Created a google docs word file and pasted inside this file "LoremIpsum" text. 2. Created a txt file inside the asset folder of my unity project via the windows explorer. 3. Went back to unity so unity could recognize the new generated empty file. 4. Opened the txt file in visual studio via drag and drop and pasted the loremIpsum text inside and saved. 5. Went back to unity and the text got recognized.
Ok I tried restarting my computer and then copying and pasting again but it did not work. However downloading the google docs file and importing into unity does seem to work for now. I think I'll stick to this method thanks!
