Change shown scene from loaded scenes?

I have a scene with my startmenu. by pressing a button, a new scene is loaded (additive). how can i change the view back to the startmenu without reloading it?

i tried setactive but that seems to not affect the view, only the instantiations (i suppose, not using it though)
