Hex grid on a terrain
Hello everyone, i'm trying toachieve exactly same effect as in this image:
I'm new to unity, but so far I have realized that there is two possible ways to achieve this:
1) Projector in this case, 1 projector/hex + 1 projector for hilight + 1 projector for border + 1 projector for "blurry edge"
2) Crreate the hexes as a geometry and apply an semitransparent texture to them.
The question is what way is better (thinking of resources) and the second question is how i can dynamically (t runtime) generate a texture for blurred borders (as in the picture)
P.S. I have googled for it, but no luck, sure, as I'm new to unity/gamedev maybe I have used wrong keywords?
