Light Probes for Procedural Levels?
Hello!
I am making a proceduraly generated levels for a 3D environment. My problem were the lights, which in Realtime would take waaay too much framerate. I heard about Light probes, but I'm a bit confused. I thought if a system like this was possible:
-Create a prefab of an Interest Point to be spawned on some random spot (like a small camp with campfire to be spawned in a random point in the forrest). The prefab would have the Light Probes around it.
-Set the campfire light to be Baked-Only, so the dynamic objects won't recieve the light, but the Light Probes would pick it up to light up the dynamic objects around it.
I wonder if that might work, but with my previous experience with Unity, I guess it would be too easy to be implemented or not-bugged in Unity 5. xP
What can be done to light up a procedurally generated surroundings?
