Dead links as results from Google searches?
Since we put in the new Search function and indexing on Unity Answers, there seems to be a disconnect with Google search. I'm investigating this and am wondering if you all can help me identify some of the Google search results that point to dead links.
I've read from many OP's that they were searching for hours but ended up with dead links, but when I typed their question into google, my whole page 1 of google always found either Docs, Forums, Answers, StackOverflow, etc. Some over 5 years old, but all of them alive.
Anyway, I will inform you of any, if I ever encounter them ;) Would it be sufficient to post those links/search terms as a comment here?
I have received a couple of examples where a user found links leading to deleted content from Unity Answers e-mails (for a non-ad$$anonymous$$/high karma user, these appear as "Page not found".) Basically UA needs to filter out content that has been deleted before linking to those in e-mails and other referrals.
The old '412' archive links have all gone dead as the addresses were changed. Its easy enough though to stick the filename.html in to google and it always gives the updated link 100% of the time.
