Have you ever gave up trying to answer a question midway?
Lately I've been getting this feeling of "screw it" way too often when trying to answer someones question midway. I think one of the factors is that it annoys me when the question doesn't say anything specific, just generic things. Another thing that stops me from answering is the likelihood that the person asking won't come back to mark the question as answered. Does anyone else get this when attempting to answer a question?

Seems like you answered your own Q. A confusing question is a sign the person may not get back, so don't waste time writing too much. And if a question isn't specific enough, that's what you should write.
If you just want to make someone feel better, like at least one person is reading, a short comment is fine: "Is this for a 3D game?" or "did you try searching: Unity Add Script?" Likewise, if you want to get rep, a short comment is a way to "ping" someone to see if a longer answer is worth your time.
And in general, reading anything for content is a skill: what is this person really asking me? Are they likely to have solved it by now? Is there someone else they should be talking to? How much of my time is this worth? ...
I know i asked my own question, just wondering anyone else gets the feeling after writing something that can contribute to solving the question. I would start writing steps, then i would get angry at the poster and close the tab without thinking twice... :/
