Why is Unity causing strange lines all over my models?
I have discovered the issue to be with the way Unity handles my RGBA texture mask in my custom shader (its not the shader, I checked extensively). In particular, Unity seems to have issues with the alpha channel. When setting transparency to alpha, it looks fine in the preview window. But on my model there's a bunch of strange lines where the alpha should be. These lines can be made visible by setting the texture format to any RGB variant.
There are colored lines in my alpha areas! I know images retain color values for alpha areas. But I've tried disabling that and using various formats and nothing fixes this. Here are images, one without the lines, and one with them. I made them red so you can see. The white area should only be the one that changes color, the grey shouldn't have any color at all.
EDIT REASON : Misspelling, incorrect tags, and an unresolved URL misspelling.
