Can't install an android Unity app on Android 6.0
Hi, I am using Unity 2018.2.16f1, building for Android. I am about to release an update for one of my games and a few testers have been unable to install it on their device. They use different models but all seem to be on Android 6.0. It is the only thing that links them. This issue is not there for other players using the same Android version. I have managed to find an old phone with 6.0 and it can't install it either. When I use the Google Play beta link, it shows the error code 910 and when I try to install it directly using the APK file, I get the "Application was not installed" message. If I opt out of the beta, I can reinstall the old version.
The error 910 seem to indicate the issue comes from the SD card, so I have tried with and without SD card, formatted it. In Unity, I set the install location to Force Internal (but I also tried the two). Nothing works. I also tried to wipe the cache and data from Google Play and from the original app, nothing either.
The update itself changes a lot of things in-game, but very little in the configuration or systems needed / used. One thing I changed is the scripting runtime version (from NET 3.x to NET 4.x) in order to use System.Net.Mail.
Does anyone has any idea what might be the issue here? Because I am completely lost!
The update is otherwise ready to launch (and is amazing :) )
Thank you :)
