Only Animate Legs, everything else Ragdoll

Heyho! i try to animate only the legs of my character, the rest should be like a ragdoll, so that the upper part is just juggeling around. so i created a ragdoll,a new avatar mask where only the legs are "green" and in my animation controller base layer i set this as a mask, if i play my animation now, the hand are streached to the front like a zombie, but no ragdoll, and the legs are animated. kinematic is off by the way. is that the right aproach iam doing?

Okay, i just saw Frankenstein and it inspired me. What do you think about this: Create a normal wasd controlled Characer. Nothing special. Animated and everything. Create a ragdoll of the same model Load the meash in a 3d program. $$anonymous$$ark everything underneath the hips. Erase it, save it. Load the original mesh again, $$anonymous$$ark everything above the hips, erase it, save it. Put the mesh where only the legs are into the wasd Charakter. Put the mesh only with the upperbody into the ragdoll. Now glue it somehow together, parent the rigidbody with the wasd character, give the spine of the ragdoll a constant force up so that it stand straight. In Theorie it should look funny :) i have to go to bed now and try it tomorrow, but what do you think about the idea?

//maybe also just animated the shoes and connect the joint of the lower leg to it? Would be even more random i think
