RPG Quests through multiple scenes
I am trying to develop a quest system that uses multiple scenes, but I'm struggling to understand how to connect the scripts with objects in other scenes.
This is the idea that I'm currently trying to use: I have a canvas in my starting scene, since the canvas is live throughout all my scenes I thought it would be a good place to manage all my quests from. Here is where I'm struggling, if the quest manager is in the starting scene, how do I make those scripts modify objects in other scenes e.g, enable/disable objects such as dialogue or just normal spites. I have tried creating references from the quest manager to the objects in other scenes but it doesn't work. I feel as if I'm missing something very basic in my understanding.
