Prevent unity answers from bumping thread on post edit
I hope this is the right place to ask this.
Many times when I answer a question, or really do any kind of post, I may want to go back and edit it due to reasons like spelling mistakes, finding myself not being clear enough, finding a bug in the code of my answer, etc...
Just recently I found a bug in one of my codes, of which I had previously posted here on unity answers. So, I wanted to go update that answer, but every time I update something I am always thinking in my head how unity answers will just bump the whole thread right to the top for everyone to see, even if the question has been answered. I dont like it. I dont want people thinking I am bumping for attention or what not. The code mentioned above was in regards to a question I had asked for the purpose of just posting the answer I found just to have it documented for others to use. However, now that I had to edit it, it bumped right to the top and I dont want people to think I am doing it for more likes or stuff like that.
Can there / is there a way to just edit my post and choose if I want it to bump or not? I am fine with it saying "Last edited on xxxxx" like the forums has it.
People will probably say not to worry about it and what not, but I just do T.T
I don't believe there is any way to prevent this behavior.

There is no choice. There is, however, an 'Update Summary' box which allows you to add a Reason, although unfortunately, this is not available for comments.
You can of course simply state "Edited to fix code".
You will find that bumping, when it is done, is obvious and noone will be thinking you are simply bumping for attention on a legit edit. Dont forget, revisions are available for viewing and a clear record of illegitimate bumps shows through.
Really, dont worry.
Judging by your reputation, Id assume you know a lot about the site (probably a mod as well), so Ill mark this correct T.T The bumping just makes it uncomfortable for me and leads me to prefer using the forums where I can edit to my hearts desire =) It is kinda one of those moments where you think everyone is looking at you and you get scared when really no one is even there ^^
$$anonymous$$ind of like your last sentence as it relates to your user name. :)
hehe ^_~, I didnt even know you could give comments a like! Learn somethin new =)
