GPU Particles
Hey, I wonder if it's possible to make GPU acclerated Particle Systems in Unity. Is there an option for this to turn it on?

Its not GPU by default, there's a couple of alternate systems on the asset store though; TC Particles is windows only DX11 GPU particles, PA Particle Field is on all platforms but mainly for ambient looping effects

Ok, I am a programmer, so I don't know much about graphical stuff. Do you think it's possible to create good looking effects with the inbuild Particle System? Or should I buy an extension? Don't wanna spend more money than 20 dollars/euros Thank you ;)
Yeah it's definitely possible, but nice effects only happen when you put the time in, think about what you want, make good use of sub emitters Only If you're looking for sheer number of particles and speed then one of those systems might work for you, or you could look at premade particle effect packs
