2D topdown turn based, some hints to get started please
Hi, I'm new to Unity but have some knowledge in both server and client side programming. As others in my situation already stated, Unity presents quite a step initial learning curve if you "just" want to develop a 2D with not physic involved.
Any advice is very appreciated Thanks

In addition to reading through the manual to get a broad overview of things, there's a Learn link at the top which has many good tutorials, including a section specific to 2D.
Thanks @Dave, that was a good starting point. Co$$anonymous$$g from a OOP background, I recognize the relationships between Scene, GameObjects, Component and Assets. I guess a glossary of Unity ter$$anonymous$$ology to translate same OOP concepts will be a great asset at this stage. Now have to figure out how to get a "hello world" message out of a clicking a thing on top of the background. :)
my plan then is to learn how to implement these functionalities:
Creating counters (things representing a military unit on the game map).
Creating a kind of irregular grid (map areas arbitrarily located on the game map.
How to drag and drop counters between map areas.
User clicks on a counter ==> Game displays a popup window listing some options (to be implemented later).
Implementing a basic game manager class and data (the OOP way) to handle these initial goals.
Wish me good luck :)
