Cannot Import Video File of Any Type
So, I can't find anyone else with this problem, every time I import a video file (I've tried all of the supported file types) I get this error:
Error reading encoded movie (buggy encoder?) [Assets/Video/trailerThingy.MP4] UnityEditorInternal.InternalEditorUtility:ProjectWindowDrag(HierarchyProperty, Boolean) UnityEditor.DockArea:OnGUI()
The file will appear in the assets with the default file thumbnail, it has some import settings, including "Bypass sRGB Sampling" and "Quality" though the actual asset is useless.
I have quicktime installed, in fact I've tried completely uninstalling it and reinstalling it twice.
I have also tried reinstalling Unity. (5.2.1f1 Personal)
Do you have QuickTime Player installed? Even installing the free version should eli$$anonymous$$ate most issues.
$$anonymous$$y mistake, I think maybe this person must have edited the question.
Eh? The person you are replying to IS the person who wrote the question :P Just saying. Anyway, I am also stuck with this.
Unity only imports my movie files if i run it as ad$$anonymous$$istrator. or if i convert to ogg first :/
What could be the problem with Unity in Ubuntu? I can't import video clips. Any one can help?
Get the $$anonymous$$Lite codec pack. Hit the thing with a sledgehammer.
