Can you use Unity Personal for your own projects even while employed by a company that uses Unity?
I work for a company that uses Unity, but I am not in that department. I want to learn to use Unity to work on my own projects, in my own time, on my own computer. Can I use the Unity Personal license?
It seems like the answer should be "yes," but the wording of the licenses makes me uncertain. My guess is that, in terms of tier eligibility, I would qualify as "an individual using the Unity Software, but not providing services to a third party," since I would not be using Unity for any company-related projects.
I've looked through the forums and found answers to similar questions, but not to this exact one. I'm new here, so my apologies if I'm breaking protocol with this question.
Any clarification would be helpful.
Yes, you can. In your free time on your personal computer it doesn't matter who you work for.
I would say that most Unity developers do exactly that.
