Password for launching app?
I am working on an app for a small company which we are wishing to privately distribute, I have read into ad-hoc distribution which my company does not qualify for. However I heard mention of a work around to implement a password required to launch the app so that we could potentially put it on the app store as a free app which would just be useless without the password. I am wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how I might go about implementing this password to launch app?

Are you talking about iOS? That will be rejected. Ad-hoc isn't something you have to qualify for, though; you can do that yourself (up to 100 users).
