How do I contact Answers administrator?
I have posted this question here on Answers and a day later, the infobar on top of the question still says
This post is currently awaiting moderation. If you believe this to be in error, contact a system administrator.
I've searched everywhere but I haven't found a way to contact a system administrator. How do I do this?
Thanks!
You posted your question 17 hours ago so that's not even a full day. The moderation is handled by the community itself, it may take few seconds as several hours depending on the number of questions in the moderation queue. Your question is now posted I just published it.
Ah, okay! I didn't realize each question must pass moderation first, and I saw lots of questions being posted "5 $$anonymous$$utes ago", so I just automatically assumed something must be wrong with my question. Now I see the "5 $$anonymous$$utes ago" is calculated from the moment of moderator approval. Thanks a lot!
Once you build up a few karma points by participating here you will be able to ask questions and comment and such without going through moderation.
@Nerevar I just noticed this question has been closed as "off-topic or not relevant". I don't believe this to be true, as the question still stands: how do I contact the ad$$anonymous$$istrator? That is the notification the users see - if there actually is a way to contact an "ad$$anonymous$$istrator", maybe it would be best to link it directly from the notification; if there's no such role on Answers, the notification text should be changed.
$$anonymous$$y question was not meant as some kind of whine like "please approve my question" but a genuine question about the content of the notification.
Actually "ad$$anonymous$$istrator" is just a generic term, it means you need to contact the people who are actually moderating the website (it is the community). For instance UnityAnswers is a generic template integrated to unity's website so the notifications are very general and unclear sometimes .
The quetion was closed because it does not concerned unity3D itself and I thought all you wanted to know is why your question was stuck in the moderation queue and how it was working...
If you want to contact people from unity $$anonymous$$m, your best chance would be on the forum.
I can re-open the question if you still think it is relevant.
$$anonymous$$y post has been waiting in moderation for almost 2 days, clearly the moderation system doesn't work. Wont be wasting my time here again
$$anonymous$$ost of the moderators, who are just volunteers, aren't around much on the weekends. You can post in the Help Room without being moderated, or wait for a mod to get to your question. In the meantime, build up a little karma by participating in the site. It doesn't take much to be able to post without going through moderation. The intent is to have a community here. If you want something from the community, give something back to it.
Yeah, it's a fairly unclear message and it doesn't tell you how to contact an ad$$anonymous$$istrator. In fact nowhere does because I've just looked for it.
This never used to be the case. Its an oversight I think.
Probably that and support couldnt get any real work done for all the email throughput they had to deal with (on account of my harsh moderation, no doubt ;)).
Indeed, one would expect the "contact a system ad$$anonymous$$istrator" line to have a hyperlink or something.
By the way I just dug up this thread by googling "how to contact a system ad$$anonymous$$istrator in unity answers" so yes, the message seems unclear to more than just one user. ;)
I'm currently facing the same problem now. :/ I know I just started here, but I still would really like help with my problem in Unity...
Please use the Answer option for something that will Answer the question (I converted yours from an Answer to a Comment.) Take a look at the FAQs, etc... for the reasoning.
Your Q seems like personal help, just learning how scripting and Unity work, so would be better in the Help Room; where there's also no waiting. Read through the rest of the comments/answers here for more about that.

@SaraCecilia I just got moderated here (I am not a moderator but I have way more than 15 karma points)
I upvoted and gave you karma which should reset your permissions. If not, ask an actual question here and someone will upvote that which has fixed others before.
Thanks...I thought that trick only worked for moderators =)
@Dave Carlile @SaraCecilia I just got moderated in the same post when I edited my answer :(
Should I try asking a question?
BTW I have successfully added answers/comments to other questions today without being moderated...
this is a really annoying bug that keeps co$$anonymous$$g back for certain users. sometimes it's due to posting multiple times too quickly (it's how I can stop spam) but other times it's a mystery. sorry about that :( typically getting an upvote or similar will help fix it, and for some reason revisions do sometimes get sent to moderation as well
it's been 4 long days and still haven't been moderated! i am desperate the replies in my questions but... looks like can't get moderated any time soon!!
i have answered and commented few times but i am getting old waiting for my questions to be moderated successfully!!
Your Q (about a sports game) was moderated. The person who did it left a comment.

There can still be reasons why a post in the moderation queue is there by error. As we've discovered lately, permissions had been reset by the theme change, causing posts from users with over 15 kp to get stuck in the mod filter.
Other times there have been posts that were stuck in "limbo" - they neither appeared in the mod queue nor became published, and still showing that messaging on top.
These two cases are indeed errors that needed to be brought to my attention (the site admin), which they have.
If there is a user with under 15 kp, it is by no means an error having the post go through moderation queue. However, a suggestions we could do in that messaging is to check out the FAQ to understand why posts go through moderation. If it's taking longer than usual to get a post published, it may be because the moderation queue is swamped at that period of time.
Hope this clarifies some things and we will look into how we can have a clearer message for those posts waiting in moderation.
One thing that would be helpful with keeping the moderation queue handled is to add back the "publish/reject with reason" functionality we had before, ins$$anonymous$$d of the death by a thousand clicks we have now. This has been brought up before - are there plans to address it soon?
This feature was unfortunately stripped with the theme upgrade of the site and will require custom work to implement. We are still looking into solutions so at this moment I cannot give an ETA.
@SaraCecilia I'm sorry for bumping up this thread once more, but I've also been waiting for about a day for my question to be moderated. Can you please help me? Thanks in advance.
Hey @SaraCecilia , my answers are always awaiting approval by moderators. I have 2k+ rep on StackOverflow. Can you just make my account normal? Last time my answer got posted more than 12 hours later than I submitted. Here's my SO account if you want to check: 3973081/patrick2607 . Thank you!
We don't have any reciprocity agreement with SO, so the amount of rep you have there is unimportant.
But, you do have 71 rep here, which means your account is already "normal." There's either the bug described above, or maybe your rep is bouncing below 15 just before you post. Actually, I'm seeing that you deleted two of your answers (we generally don't delete things here unless they are gobbledegook from your cat walking over the keyboard,) so too-low rep may have been the problem.
Yea, I guess that was the problem. I can finally post without being moderated :)

You can contact support through the form in the contact section of the Unity3d.com mainsite.
You can grab the attention of a particular user by using the @ operator. This will fire an email to their inbox (when its not broken).
Thanks for the info! But which form/type of contact should I use? This one? http://unity3d.com/contact/get-in-touch
I mean, none of the categories in "Type of Inquiry" really seem to fit this kind of problem.
O$$anonymous$$ I completely understand your query now. 'Support' used to be an option.
Lets refer this to @SaraCecilia.
Hi yeah, sorry for the late reply. Some days the moderation queue can take a bit longer to have posts approved, it all depends on how many moderators are able to push things through.
The wording on that is misleading, we should probably refer to the FAQ. The reason I can see to contact an ad$$anonymous$$ (in this case, myself) would be if you are above 15 kp and still have to go through the mod queue because then it's an issue with permissions.
And that is how to contact Ad$$anonymous$$/Support.
thanks Sara

Hello @SaraCecilia, I have the same problem with the moderation queue for a topic I've posted 36 hours ago. Here is the link.
Can you please help me out? Many thanks in advance.
Regards.

Hi @SaraCecilia, I have tripped across this thread searching for how to contact the administrator on a question I raised nearly 24 hours ago.
There were two things that concerned me, one that it still seemed to be "awaiting moderation" and the other that it says even now that it was only posted 4 hours ago, when its at least 17.
I understand the moderation thing now, the other seems to be an error ?
I guess one thing that would really help us all is some context, so could there be something on the site that confirmed how many questions were in moderation, maybe what the oldest submission date was so we knew where in line we were?
Either way, keep up the good work.
Craig
Hi Craig, submitting a post to the default site is different from getting it published, so that is why there are two different time stamps. Submissions have to go through the $$anonymous$$oderation queue and wait for approval, and if they get approved they become published (if not, they get rejected.) If you don't want to go through the $$anonymous$$oderation queue, you can build up a reputation of 15 kp by contributing to the site (helping other users) or posting directly into the Help Room. How quickly posts go through moderation depends entirely on how many moderators are active during the time the posts are submitted to the default site.
If anything is unclear, please read the FAQ and User Guide.
