Terrain Detail Texture?
When painting a terrain in unity you can load different textures to alternate painting with and blend them with one another for a pretty good look. But is there a way to add a PNG (Transparent Image) where the alpha of the texture being applied will not be seen but only the visible parts of the texture will? For instance: Painting a scene where there is a lot of waste, trash and debris where instead of having to use 3d meshes or quads for any and all details you could imply paint some into the terrain?
I haven't done it but on first read I don't see why that wouldn't work. Creating your PNG image should be simple enough - paint it with your other textures and let us know.
Yeah, I have tried this and anytime I paint a texture with alpha/transparency in it, the alpha value is represented by a solid black color that masks the other applied textures. Any ideas?
